Pinecone Vector Search
RAG Q&A over a Video Corpus — Pinecone
A question-answering system over a video corpus, built as a retrieval-augmented generation pipeline: content chunked semantically with overlap, embedded into a Pinecone vector database, and served through custom retrieval and generation, so answers come from the videos themselves.
The pipeline
Ingest the corpus; split it into semantically coherent chunks that overlap at their edges; embed each chunk and index it in Pinecone. At question time, embed the question, retrieve the closest chunks by similarity, and generate an answer from them.
Why overlap matters here
Video content, especially speech, rarely breaks cleanly at a chunk boundary. Overlapping chunks keep an explanation that crosses a boundary retrievable as one piece instead of two halves that each miss the point.
